96 Hours in Barcelona, Spain

I had two potential holidays planned before I jetted off to Barcelona with a friend. I tend to travel with family only, so this was my first girls trip abroad. I was ready to embrace the sun with open arms and soak up the culture.

We arrived in Barcelona sometime in the afternoon, caught a bus to Rambla Catalunya, where our Hotel ‘Hotel Regina’ was located. Since we were early to check in, we decided to leave our bags with the receptionists and they kind to pop them in storage until our room was ready.

It was ridiculously hot, so I decided to swap into my sliders and remove my trainers. We hit the streets, exploring and looking for something to eat. I hadn’t eaten since the day before and last meal I had was Chinese. We came across the Good Burger and munched away. We explored the town before heading back to our hotel and then checked into our room.

Since I had barely rested, after a pointless romantic date and flew out to Barcelona couple of hours later, I took a quick nap, then headed out to Barcelona’s Erotica Museum which was indeed interesting.

Over the next couple of days, we spent our time exploring the Gothic Quarter, Park de Guell (which was sold out — cons of being last minute.com), La Barceloneta Beach, various shops including Sephora and Macba Art Gallery. Of course we danced away with Barcelona’s night life and hit up a dinner/bar called Living Barcelona and crashed Hotel Putlizer’s roof top bar.

Travelling around Barcelona was fairly easy, since we mainly travelled around by foot. We only used the train a couple of time as well as the bus. Since we were in the main tourist area, everything was quite local to where we were staying.
