Digital Mindfulness: 2 Apps you should try

Managing our mental health during the lock down has been challenging for most of us. In our digital loving world, there are apps out there to support our mental health and well-being. You can relax your mind with guided meditations, sleep stories and colouring with these two apps.

Calm

Calm is one my favourite apps to listen to guided meditation or fall asleep to their classic sleep stories. They have daily guided meditations, which explore calming your anxiety, soothing pain and managing your stress. Their sleep stories range from fiction to ASMR. I find that they can be somewhat helpful if you struggle to fall asleep at night.

Happy Colour

My therapist suggested this app to me and I was hesitant to try it. Since it was a digital colouring app, I questioned if I would still feel relaxed and present, and to my surprise I found that I enjoyed colouring by numbers. Colouring can be therapeutic and reduce stress and anxiety according to a study published in the Art Therapy Therapy Association.
