My 3 best routines on the Nike Training App

“Movement is life. Without movement, life is unthinkable”. - Moshe Feldenkrais

I haven’t bought a pair of Nike trainers in a while, but I have been keeping active with the Nike training app. Although there are many workout apps available, I have been an avid fan of the Nike Training app since 2013. The great thing about this app is that you can utilise it in the gym or at home. Since they’ve updated the app you can get useful advice from Nike experts on nutrition and wellness. Some of the workouts have been created by athletes or by Nike themselves and there are workouts for beginners, intermediates and advanced fitness lovers.

Keeping active can support your mental health and be beneficial for your physical health, so here are my 3 best routines on the Nike Training app.

  1. Essential Restorative Yoga

In this day and age it is important to recharge whenever you can. I started to get into yoga during my final year of my undergraduate degree and found it to be relaxing. After my undergraduate degree I found myself wanting to take a yoga class but finding the classes slightly pricey. So I took to the Nike Training app and stumbled upon a routine called Essential Restorative Yoga created by Traci Copeland. What I love about this routine is that its for beginners, low intensity and lasts for approximately 20 mins. It starts off with diaphragmatic breathing and ends in savasana - so it starts off slowly, builds up a bit and gradually slows down. It’s a good routine for stress relief, opening your hips, improving your focus and recovering.

2. Better But 2.0

Build a firm and round butt with this routine created by Nike. I suppose building a lovely butt has been a long time goal of mine, particularly being a petite woman. I prefer to use heavy weights in a Gym setting when I’m trying to build my glutes. What I love about this routine in particular is that its a 15 minute workout and good for your core, glutes and lower body endurance. You may need moderate dumbbells but it’s possible to do the workout without equipment.

3. Boxer Arms

Boxing is a great way for me to release pent up frustration and anger. For this work out you may need dumbbells but it’s completely possible to do the workout without any equipment. The routine it self is created by Nike with a moderate intensity and lasts around 22 minutes. It starts off with warm up and gradually goes into different forms of boxing techniques. It’s great for toning your arms and shoulders and today body endurance.
